Visitors who plan to travel to Laos can
obtain a visa in advance of your arrival. This can be done in many ways,
though a tour company recognized by the Lao
PDR, or either from a Laos Embassy or Consulate in many countries such at
Australia, France, Russia, USA, Sweden, Poland, Germany, Cuba, Japan, Brunei,
China, Singapore, Mongolia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, South
Korea, Thailand and Vietnam. The visa fee is between $US 07-25 The visa fee
varies depending on the agreement between governments.
A tourist visa is valid for 30 days, in case of staying in Laos beyond
the validation, visitors will be charge two dollar per day fine. However,
visitors can extend their visas at the immigration office.
Should visitors travel immediately and visa is not obtained, visitors can
still travel to Laos
by obtaining visa on arrival at the following international check-points.
1. Wattay international airport (Vientiane)
2. Luangprabang international airport.
3. Friendship bridge ( Nongkai-Vientiane )
4. Pakse international airport (Champasak)
At this four international checkpoints, visa can be obtained with a fee of
$US 30.
ENTRY POINTS BY AIR
The ports of arrival by air are Wattay international Airport in Vientiane,
Luangprabang international airport and Pakse international airport, you can
travel by Lao airline, Thai airways international, Vietnam airlines, the
China Yunnan Airlines and the regular flights are available to Bangkok,
Phnompenh, Siemriep, Hochiminh City, Hanoi, Chiangmai and Kunming.
AIRPORT TAX:
US$ 10 per person is levied on passenger who leaving Laos
international flights.
